If there’s one thing I’ve learned after eight years of JoJo Co., it’s this: we’re only as strong as the hands behind our work.
It would be easy - tempting, even - to drift from our roots, take shortcuts, outsource things overseas, or follow trends that make life cheaper or easier. But that’s not who we are. We built this business on craftsmanship, honesty, and heart, and that’s exactly how we plan to keep it.
Because handmade is best.
And one of the biggest joys of running a small business has been collaborating with other incredible makers who share those same values - people who care as much about quality and authenticity as we do.
Why Collaborations Matter
Working with other small businesses keeps creativity alive. It keeps things local, sustainable, and personal - all the things that big brands can’t replicate.
Every collaboration we’ve done has made JoJo Co. better: new ideas, fresh perspectives, and friendships that go far beyond business.
It’s not always easy to find the right fit. Collaborations have to feel genuine - not forced -and I’m proud to say we only work with people who get us, our values, and the magic of slow, thoughtful making.
Katie from KP Studio - Crafting Dreams in Clay
Do you know, I wanted to create bespoke wax burners for years? I could see them in my head long before I found the right person to bring them to life.
Then along came Katie from KP Studio - and it was like the stars aligned. Katie is incredibly talented, kind, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Together we created our stunning wax burners and our new wee tealight holders, both handcrafted in her Scottish studio.
Every piece she makes reflects that same handmade luxury and attention to detail that JoJo Co. stands for - perfectly imperfect (but completely perfect!), full of warmth, and made to last.
Best burner I have ever used you get what you pay for love it - Caroline G, 13.10.25
Susan McGill - Art with Heart (and Soul)
Next came one of my proudest moments - collaborating with the incredible Susan McGill, a local artist from Kirkcaldy whose work I’ve admired for years and have three of her stunning art prints hanging on the walls of my home.
Susan’s pottery is iconic, and turning her beautiful hand-painted pots into JoJo Co. candles was honestly a pinch-me moment. They sold out in record time - no surprise there - and it still gives me goosebumps knowing her art and our fragrance came together so seamlessly.
Susan is clever, generous and such a beautiful person - a true reflection of what makes the Scottish creative community so special.
Shane from Woodn - Oak, Craft & Community
We couldn’t talk about collaboration without mentioning Shane from Woodn - one of the nicest (and most talented) humans around.
Shane makes our gorgeous oak candle base plates, tealight holders and even our bespoke event counters. His work brings natural texture and authenticity to everything we do, tying perfectly into our love of sustainable, handcrafted design.
He’s a local Fifer too - which makes it even better. Supporting small businesses close to home is something I’ll never get tired of.
Susan from We Are Amused — Prints, Matches & Pure Joy
Then there’s Susan from We Are Amused - an amazing artist and friend whose kindness and creativity light up every project.
We turned her “Keep the Fire Burning” print into our bespoke JoJo Co. matchbox design, and it’s been a customer favourite ever since. Her art, her humour, her loyalty - she’s the best kind of collaborator: talented, authentic, and forever cheering us on.
Jolene from Òir - Nature, Calm & Golden Craftsmanship
Our most recent collaboration is one I’m truly thrilled about - Jolene from Òir, creator of beautiful handmade soaps inspired by the Scottish Highlands.
Each bar is made using natural ingredients and the traditional cold-process method, with the same level of care we put into our candles. We were lucky enough to include Òir’s gorgeous soap in our Luxury Advent Calendar, and the pairing of scent, craft and sustainability couldn’t have been more perfect.
Jolene’s story - nature, luxury, calm - aligns perfectly with JoJo Co.’s ethos.
Why We’ll Always Choose Handmade
These collaborations aren’t just about pretty products. They’re about preserving integrity, celebrating talent, and reminding people why handmade matters.
Because handmade means time, thought, and love. It means buying from real people, not factories. It means supporting local makers, families, and dreams.
We’re not interested in doing things the “easy” way. We’re interested in doing them the right way.
And working alongside these incredible Scottish artisans keeps us grounded, inspired, and proud of what we stand for.
Here’s to every potter, woodworker, artist and maker who’s joined us on this journey - and to the amazing collaborations still to come.
Because at JoJo Co., handmade isn’t just how we do things.
It’s who we are.
