I’ve been writing a blog almost every week for a while now.
And I’ll be honest.
Some weeks I sit down and think…
Is anyone actually reading these?
Because running a small business in 2026 is a strange thing. You can be making products, packing orders, writing emails, posting on Instagram, replying to customers, updating the website, thinking about SEO, planning launches, chasing invoices, ordering stock and still wonder if you’re doing enough.
Apparently, the answer is always no.
So here I am, writing another blog.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because I’m secretly desperate to become a blogger.
But because I’ve realised that every little thing we put out there helps tell the story of JoJo Co.
And I think that matters.
Because when you buy from a small handmade business, you’re not just buying a candle.
You’re buying the thought behind it.
The scent choices.
The gift wrapping.
The handwritten tags.
The fact that someone has actually cared about how it will feel when the parcel arrives.
You’re buying from real people who are trying to keep something beautiful going in a world that often feels set up for bigger, louder, cheaper and faster.
That’s why I write these blogs.
Some are about gifts.
Some are about home fragrance.
Some are about weddings, teacher presents, seasonal scents, or why your house can still feel a bit odd even when it’s clean.
And some are just me trying to make sense of life, business, womanhood and whatever emotional event has been caused by deciding what to cook for dinner.
But underneath all of it, the reason is the same.
I want people to find us.
Not just through a quick Instagram post that disappears in a day.
But through little pieces of writing that stay on the website, quietly working away in the background.
A blog is not instant.
It doesn’t always give you that quick rush of sales.
It can feel slow.
Painfully slow sometimes.
But it’s also a way of keeping the website alive. Fresh. Human. Full of reasons for people to visit, stay, browse and understand what we’re about.
And if someone finds us because they searched for a thoughtful wedding gift, or a luxury candle made in Scotland, or a home fragrance that makes their house feel more welcoming, then that blog has done its job.
Even if it took months.
Maybe that’s the thing with small business.
So much of it is planting seeds and hoping they grow.
You don’t always know which post, which email, which product photo, which blog or which tiny detail will make someone think:
I like this brand.
I trust this brand.
This feels like the kind of gift I want to send.
So I’ll keep writing.
Even on the weeks when I’m tired.
Even when I’m not sure what to say.
Even when I wonder if anyone is reading.
Because JoJo Co. has never just been about candles.
It’s about thoughtful gifts, beautiful scents, small luxuries, real homes, real people and the little details that make something feel special.
And if writing these blogs helps even one more person find us, understand us, or choose us, then it’s worth it.
